2016 Shelby American Cobra Daytona Coupe Recreation built to HTP Specification

Originally built in response to the Ferrari 250 GTO - the Shelby American Cobra Daytona Coupe was one of a series of 6 aerodynamic Cobra Coupes built to win the GT World Championship. This objective was acheived in 1965 and the handful of original cars are now worth 8 figures and understandably are deemed too valuable to race competitively.

To this end, a limited number of toolroom recreations were constructed in 2016 - believed to be 15 in number for participation in modern historic racing to full HTP specification and using drawings from an original car during restoration.

These cars are eligible for all the major historic race events such as the Spa Six Hours, Masters Gentleman Drivers and the Goodwood Members Meeting.

The sister car to our example was 2nd overall at the Goodwood Members Meeting in 2016 with a fastest lap time of under 1 minute 25 seconds.

Video shows James Cottingham lapping Goodwood in the sister car to the one we have on offer:

Our car has been built with all the latest development tweaks by the same well-known Cobra expert and would be a highly competitive candidate for historic racing.

Full build specification available on request.

The car needs nothing and is on the button - ready to win.
